Babies are responding to words and actions. They're actively listening and the more they hear, the sooner they will be able to form their own words. Participatory games are important at this level. Each new animal, first shown facing front, greets the child; turn the page, and baby's new friend, now seen from the back, says 'Bye!' It won't be long before baby answers!
