Colorful host to numerous familiar abbreviated rhymes, this little book is delightfully crowded with Tomie dePaola's vibrant, bubbly illustrations of well-known verses such as "Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater," "Georgie Porgie," and "Jack Sprat." Among the pages are also the less famous, including "I Saw a Ship A-Sailing," with a duck captain joyfully walking the deck while mice peek out the portholes, and "Lavender's Blue," in which a king and queen cavort in a bright green meadow.
