Never Say Never
Author(s): Peter Derham
Persistence has been at the heart of every aspect of Peter Derham's life, including his long and successful business career. The Nylex sign, the Melbourne landmark that sits astride the silos near the Punt Road Bridge, was originally known as Derham's folly, named after the sales director of Nylex who instigated it, Peter Derham. Peter went on to become CEO of the company his father started and in 1980, he was knighted for services to industry. He also found the time to be part of Australia's successful 1983 America's Cup challenge, and to visit Antarctica a number of times. Sir Peter is the founder of one of Victoria's finest wineries, the award winning Red Hill Estate.
