Sketching and drawing by hand are not disappearing skills. They are an integral part of the decision-making process, used in the early stages of design. This is not a book about 'how to'draw and sketch, but rather it challenges the reader to be active, looking for information within the work of the studio's work which has been used, learning from them and finding explanations. There are drawbacks with computer rendering,and quick thumbnail sketches, which can then be upgraded after client conference, are a definite time-saver, and design changes of direction and possibilities are easily portrayed . Freehand drawings can also be expressive, and contain emotion.Studios are now returning to the sketching method while combining presentations with mixes media (digital)
