The eagerly anticipated live-action movie adaptation of the seminal Kodansha Comics manga series will be released in the UK on 31 March 17. Based on the original manga by Masamune Shirow, the movie is written by Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton) and Jamie Moss (Spectral) and directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman). The movie stars Scarlett Johansson (Captain America: Civil War); Michael Pitt (Hannibal), Juliette Binoche(Godzilla), Michael Wincott (Alien: Resurrection), Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones) and Rila Fukushima (Arrow). Ghost in the Shell marks acclaimed Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano's return to American cinema after over twenty years.
