Simon Goodwin was born in Adelaide in 1976. He was drafted at no.18 in the 1996 pre-season draft and played his first appearance for the Crows in round one in 1997. He won the club Best and Fairest in 2000, 2005 and 2006, as well as the Michael Tuck Medal in 2006. He became captain in 2008.
